INLAND REVENUE DIVISION

  MISSION STATEMENT

To plan, organize, control and provide effective leadership in the administration of the division. To administer and enforce Revenue Laws with justice, fairness and equity.

To collect and account for Government’s Revenue promptly and efficiently. To facilitate Government’s fiscal and economic policies by expediting delivery and reducing “Red tape”. To render courteous and customer friendly service. To promote team building. To encourage voluntary compliance.

 To collect and protect all duties and taxes due to Government, protect national borders and facilitate trade.

  SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Administering Revenue Laws
  • Collecting arrears of taxes under the Business Levy Debt service levy and VAT acts
  • Collecting and accounting for budgeted Tax Revenue and licence fees in accordance with the above laws and financial rules
  • Discharging functions delegated by the Permanent Secretary Finance and other agencies relative to the collection of taxes, licences and fees
  • Encouraging voluntary compliance through consultation, public awareness programmes, the dissemination of information and by rendering customer friendly service.
  • Enforcement of the revenue egislation so as to bring delinquent taxpayers into compliance. (a) by issuance of warrants (b) best of judgment assessments (c) court action.
  • Management of the human and material resources provided in the annual budget efficiently and cost effectively as possible so as to achieve revenue goals.

 LOCATION

The Inland Revenue Division is located on the first (1st) floor in buildings #3 and # 4 and the 1st and 2nd floors of building#2 at the Financial Complex, the Carenage, St. George’s.
