The Minister of Finance, Planning, Economy, Energy, & Co-operatives exercises general control and direction. The administrative head of the Ministry is the Permanent Secretary. There is also two deputy Permanent Secretary. The Ministry is divided into the following departments: OPERATIONAL GOALS : To facilitate payments of Government of Grenada accounts with due regard to convenience the public at all times and in accordance with the acts and regulations of the Government of Grenada. MISSION: To allocate resources based on the MISSION : To assist in (i) securing the social, economic and ecological environment of our country, (ii) the collection of revenue due to government and (iii) the facilitation of the movement of cargo and travelers by administering all laws and regulations relating to Customs with prudence, equity, integrity and impartiality. The main objective of the Debt Management Unit is: “Ensuring that the financing needs of the Government are met on a timely basis and that its debt service obligations are met at the lowest cost over the medium-to-long term, in a manner that is consistent with an acceptable and prudent degree of risk” (Public Debt Management Act 2015). The Fiscal Resilience Act (2023) became effective from 1st January 2024, with one of the main objectives of providing greater flexibility for the Government to manage the economy. The purpose of the research and policy unit is to ensure that fiscal and macro economic policy decisions are well informed and have the necessary leverage, which will ensure that good policies are made. In this regard the unit serves to advise the permanent Secretary on policy options relating to macro-economic and fiscal issues. VISION: To continuously diversify the range and nature of operations to keep abreast with appropriate cutting-edge technologies so as to adequately meet public sector printing demands. In 1979, the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Caribbean Education Development and Basic Human Needs/Employment Sector Programme to reduce poverty in select CDB Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs). The Inland Revenue Division (IRD) is a division within the Ministry of Finance (MoF). It is responsible for the administration of Inland Revenue laws and the collection of a wide range of taxes and licenses.
The Government of Grenada has introduced a system of procuring its goods, works and services, and disposing of its assets, with the passing of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act in 2014, and Regulations in 2015.
